Help with Browning a bolt 2 safety not working

I recently purchased a used Browning A-bolt 2 longe range hunter in 300 Rum. Didn't notice it at purchase but the safety is off and I cannot get it to push back into the "on" position. Am I just missing something this is my first A-bolt rifle.
