What is the gun oil used for when cleaning the excess epoxy?

I have the 2# spring in the 7wsm and it's worth more than what it cost, a cinch to put in. I have bought one for my 243wssm a-blt. Highly recommed. Nice light and crisp trigger w/o the loss of safety.

The oil keeps the bedding material from smearing around on the wood a metal surfaces.
As the bedding material oozes out wipe it off w/an oily papaer towel/q-tip.
Clean every little speck off or it will be there a long time.

I stuck a bdl rem stock bad once and cracked it trying to get it out of the bedding -later read that i could have put a soldering iron in the action -let it heat up real well -then wa-la out she comes.
