I never would have believed it until you told me..........loaded some at 2.86 CBTO (.020 jump) and they fit in the magazine!

I started at 72 and 72.5 was a one holer. Been going up in .5 grain increments. 73 was ok but up from there through 76 shoots like crap. No signs of pressure at all so I'll keep going to 78 if I can. I would think things would start closing back up at some point!

No I didn't but will reload some more and take the LabRadar with me next time. I thought I would have hit a node again in 3.5 grains.
Every barrel is different. During load work up I started at 75 gr and stopped at 79 gr of H1000. All were 3 shot groups and all stayed in a one inch group. So I had 15 rounds in a one inch group. I couldn't believe they all shot into the same group. My 6.5 Sherman was almost as good.
Well, the 72.5 grain load was around 2650 FPS but finally hit another sweet spot at 78 grains and 2885 FPS. Should be 2900s when barrel speeds up. Only have 50 rounds through it so far. I think I pulled the third shot a bit. A lot of difference in recoil with 5.5 more grains!
OK.......Now I'm at a total loss. As previously posted, I only had a good 3 shot group at 72.5 and 78 grains of H1000 (which is ridiculously narrow). I have not been able to duplicate 3 good shots since then.....with any load. I have at least one flyer of 1-2 inches almost every group shot. I've checked firing pin travel, let barrel cool between shots, checked scope mounts, action screws, etc. Only thing I can think of is the new Leupold scope on it is FUBAR or maybe a chamber issue?
Do you have a scope you trust that you could temporarily use on this rifle for testing?

My thoughts. Forget about developing a accuracy load until you get to the point where the barrel speeds up. Afterwards, follow the Berger method for seating depths. Once you've found the sweet spot, then try going up or down with powder charge. By the way, what mounting system is on your rifle?
Thinking about throwing my K624i on it........
Not sure what these mounts are. A friend had the gun made by Alamo Precision and I'm just trying to develop a load for him.

Those should be fine. I am not a fan of mounts that are NOT either one piece or picatiny style.
Since you are just shooting and getting the barrel to where it speeds up, why not try another scope...it would rule out the question about the existing scope.
I think that will be my best bet.
