HELP! Short Barreled .300 WSM Powder

I need to prepare for a long throated .300 WSM and would welcome your recommendations for powder. Tikka T3x action. The barrel is a 20", 1 in 9 Hart. I plan to shoot 1 of 3 bullets, Swift Scirocco II 180, Barnes LRX 190 or Federal Terminal Ascent 200. It will wear a Banish Backcountry suppressor. This will be my primary Elk rifle with maybe Alaskan moose at some point. Looking to develop the handloads for hunting. I currently have H1000 but want more (faster?) options. What speed of powder should I be trying?

Also welcome your thoughts as to which bullet to use.

I've had a couple of set ups like yours, best powder I found was H4350, that was after trying H4831SC, H1000, N565 and N560. Good luck, my last one hammered with Berger 215s

I have a long barrel 300 WSM so some differences but my COAL is very similar to yours with those same bullets.

The best powder is something you can get.

If you have Reloader 26, IMO that is your best option.

So with me shooting lighter bullets, would a touch faster be advantageous?

Well I think powders that work well, do so regardless of the barrel length within reason of course. I found H4350 worked well from
180s to 215s, great accuracy, way better than the others I mentioned.

Give it a go, I've been using it on my Saums with great results as well.

N555 is a pretty solid choice with that bullet weight. Don't be afraid to try some StaBall 6.5 either, your barrel will either love it or hate it but it produces impressive speed in the WSM.

guessing you'll want to stay to quicker powders in a 20", I ended up using 4350 instead of 4831sc because I ran out of room in the case with the SC before I got a hunting load I liked.
being able to be seating them longer might have changed that choice. let us know how it works out

RL16 is a tad faster than H4350 and also very temp stable. Great powder often overlooked. As mentioned RL26 will make it scream but will be a unicorn as when the current supplies on shelves dries up I read it will only be available to manufacturers now. If someones heard otherwise chime in.

I'm running IMR 4350 in my 14" bbl'd 300wsm with 165's. If I had to develop the load today I'd think of Ramshot hunter or sta-ball...
