Help my barrel appears in my scope?

This probably is a stupid question, but I have never had this happen I got a new rifle and scope and the barrel appears in the bottom of the scope what do I do? I assume shim the scope up a little to get rid of it?

Ignore it, you probably have it on low power and have mounted the scope low to the barrel (a good thing). Its not at all uncommon and not a problem.

If you shim the scope up you'll lose elevation. And you know we all need more elevation.
