Barnes 129 LRX, 54.3 grains of RL16, CC1 BR-2, Winchester brass...this little combo yields 3,300 fps (26" barrel) and nice little groups 
it's my deer/elk slayer this year I'm excited to see how it does!
Btw, if you're going to tinker with this one...work up. It's not max in my rifle but alliant has 53.8 listed as their max with the 130 GMX. I started at 52.5 or so and got to 54.7 without pressure signs but group and velocity were good so I stopped.

Oh yeah...if you're looking for a designated deer load...RL17 and 110 Tipped TSX are pretty dang flat. Used that last year with awesome results. Deer just dropped like they were struck by lighting...pretty cool.
With a 250 yard zero that one is a point and shoot to about 400-450 depending on what velocity you're getting. Have fun!

60gr h4831 and Nosler 140gr Ballistic tips.
3000 Fpc's in a 22" barrel. Near 3200 in a 26"
The downside is that you will never learn to track a wounded animal.

I ran the numbers on this and I think you made a mistake. I ran them at 4000fps with a 250y zero and it would still be point blank range to 360y before you would have to make an elevation adj. But if you could get 4000fps it would keep point blank range to 460y with a 400y zero. The highest vel that Barnes shows for the 110 TTSX is 3507fps with Ramshot Hunter. Your extra 2" of barrel could add 50fps to that.
The speed that you are showing with the 129g is the same speed that Alliant shows for the 270wsm with that bullet at max load of RL-26. Are you shooting a wsm?
Point blank range is a 5" radius for this calculation. Pretty standard for deer size game. That is the size of basketball.

It's just a regular old 270 win. The Alliant numbers listed for R16 show the 130 Berger at over 3200 fps with a 24" barrel so to get an extra 100 fps shouldn't be out of he ordinary, right? Especially with a solid bullet?
As far as the 110 TTSX goes..i get 3700+ out of that one. Fast barrel?? Jacked up crony?? Both? You're the pro lol those are just the numbers that I get at the range gun) and in the field.
By "point and shoot" I literally mean range it, hold "on fur" let one rip
for me, the more simple I keep things the better I do out there. From top of the back of a deer to bottom of the armpit is probably more like 24" vertical isn't it? Translation in the field would be if there's a deer at 400 yards and I'm zeroed at 250 with that load, I'll put the crosshairs high on fur, pull the trigger, and kill it. I just plugged in the numbers on JBM to double check and there's only 9.3" of drop at 400 yards, which would put the hit right in the shoulder. Does that make sense? Let me know, maybe I am doing something wrong?? Works well for me but not as sexy or scientific as other methods. I'm just a hunter

I would zero that guy at 300 or so. JBM will tell you the max point blank range zero. Will make it so you can think even less.
Sky screen crony's will mess you up for sure.

My .270 has a 24" barrel. It uses Barnes TTSX 110 grainers also running 63.5 grains of Ramshot Hunter WLRP primers. It produces 3,500 feet per second. That matches Barnes max load velocity and yet is 2.2 grains below their max load. I stopped at that load because the accuracy is there. I sighted it in 2" high at 100 which, according to JBM, gives it a maximum height of 3" on it way to about a 280 yard zero.
By the way I tried about half dozen primers and the WLRM primers produced the best accuracy. They don't always. That's why I try so many.
I killed a couple 200+ pound pigs the other day. Both were broadside. I shot both close behind the shoulder and both had exits. One was about 150 yards the other was about 100 yards away.

I load 145ELD-X in my 1-9 twist 270WIN 24" barrel hunting rifle. I use 60.0gr of IMR7977 and get .5 groups at 100yds.
Also load 140gr SST with 54.0gr of Hybrid 100V (3058fps MV out of my 26" heavy barrel 1-9 twist). They are the Hammer of Thor on whitetail in my neck of the woods.
Just started loading the ELD-X in 270WIN and 280AI. The 280AI is boringly accurate with most anything you feed it. Took one nice buck this past season at about 100yds; high chest/shoulder shot with the 162gr ELD-X over 64.0gr of MagPro. It sounded like he got hit with a boat oar. Drooped like a rock.

IMR7977 has been good to me as well. I haven't put any effort into the ELDX, were you able to hunt with it last year or only have range data? If so, how did they perform on game and what distances? Intrigued by those bullets for sure.

I have pretty much used all the 130 to 150 hunting .277 bullets available.By far the best overall for me has been the 140 nosler accubond.Short range or long it has performed way above and beyond the call of duty on deer hogs and coyotes.Use a powder like 4831 in my experience the h4831 between 57 and 59 should be great and in my grim reaper n165 vihtavuori is very similar in burn rate and could be a winner in a 270 winning also.Love the 27 calibers super whitetail medicine for absolutely sure kills without the heavy recoil of the magnums.
Since I am in CA, I have been studying the copper bullets for the 270 win.
OK, so far, this is all from ballistic studying, charts, and published data, not my own data yet.
I have narrowed it down to either the GS custom 110 or 117 with Norma 203B as the place I will be starting from. Leaning toward the 117 for the improved BC.
