Hello and thanks for letting me join your forum!
By trade, I'm an Automation Engineer, which at my current employment means I program and fix robots and PLC. I have extensive background in all things industrial maintenance related. EG, electrical, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication and machining. Sort of a jack of all trades, master of some.
I'm in Northern part of West TN and a life long outdoorsman and hunter. I'm mostly a deer hunter, but also hunt most other small game and varmints from time to time. I'm also an avid hand-loader and prefer rolling my own to do what I want for any given task.

Up until about 15yrs ago, with a couple minor exceptions, most of my deer slaying was done with my old model 94 30-30. Since then I've branched off into some other platforms, but find I'm most inclined towards bolt action hunting rifles, and thus, they make up most of my collection. I'm starting to delve into long range and precision shooting, but my motives are still mainly for hunting. There's not any places I hunt right now that I can shoot much over 400yds. I'm probably going out west soon with my SIL for Elk and Antelope and there may be a possibility of needing to stretch out a little further. My gun club has a 640yd range, and we can shoot 720yds from a crow's nest on a hill beside the pavilion. The club is 45min away and since I still work a fulltime job, I only make it up there about once a month if I'm lucky. I've been fairly successful out to 640yd with .223, 30-06, 300wm, and 6.5cm. I've just picked up a new X-bolt in 6.8 Western and sourced some new brass from ADG , so I'm in the middle of developing loads for it. I will probably take it for Antelope and my X-bolt LR Pro 300wm for Elk, but I know either would be fine for both.
Some may recognize my screen name from another forum in which I'm fairly active. The screen name is not a reference to a Harley-Davidson. Sorry, I'm a Goldwing guy. For the curious ones, the sceen name comes from my account at a building supply store when I built my house. They derived it from my surname, first name, and phone # at the time. I've been using it as a screen name every since and saw no reason to use a different name here.
Looking foward to learning more about long range hunting from you all.

Thanks,
Jerry
