Hello all, interesting reading, have been a lurker for some time now, thought I better join to ask questions and to possibly contribute.
I am a beef producer in sub-tropical Queensland and have been feral herbivore(mainly feral deer and macropod harvesting) and predator(mostly wild dog and fox) shooting and trapping for about 35 years, mainly shooting self reloaded ammo through BRNO .270win, Win .243win, Parker hale .22-250rem, BRNO .22LR and more recently Tikka T3's in .243win, .223rem, and .204ruger. A couple of old double barrel shotguns are used to chuck SSG and rifled solids at feral cattle and pigs and other close range, larger game.
Most shooting these days is throwing 55grain soft points at wild dogs at 200-500 metres through 6-18x50 Meopta Meopro glass and 100-130 grain soft point bullets at wild pigs at 100-300 metres.
Thanks to previous contributors for making such an interesting forum of experiences, facts and opinions.
