Welcome! I was raised in that area. Coyotes were about the only thing we could hunt, excepting quail and prairie chickens. West, near NM line, there are some big mulies now. Access is expensive, as is most land in TX. Texas Parks and Wildlife offers some great draw hunts on their site, for low prices, some near you. You'll like it here, good folks.

Thanks for the info, there are some monster mulies out west of me. I will look into the draw hunts.

well, you wont find a shortage of 6.5 fanatics here. Welcome! From the one place in the US with snow still on the mountains in July, Colorado.

Texas is a land of wide open spaces but.....unless you own a very large ranch you won't find many places to shoot over 100 yd.
