Hello from Gilroy, CA

I would verify that legal to shoot them in your area, this time of year. Also depends on where you live and how close you are to other houses.

Foxes are easy to trap. You can use a "have a heart" trap and capture them and relocate, or a foot hold and dispatch or sell to a fox pen. Would need to ensure there are not Kits.

If you are out in the country, and you want them gone. Bait up a spot, set a trail camera so you get their routine (unless you have unlimited time to sit and watch at dusk) and pick them off. Again, ensure what you are doing is legal.

Welcome from SoCal. Sprinkle some garlic on them.

I think I will try one of this:

Braised Leg of Fox

Welcome to long range hunting, from the piedmont of northeast georgia. Great to have you on board.
Thanks!

A 22 rifle will take care of the fox's. Look for them especially around dusk. Putting out scraps of raw meat will draw them in. But never be surprised to see them any time of day. The term crazy like a fox, tells a lot about them. They are very crafty, and sneaky.
Thanks. Yesterday it was here at 5:30 am at 10 pm. It was here at 5:30 am this morning and it didn't run off until I got about 25 feet from it.

Welcome from western Colorado, absolutely bait them and prepare for a wait, the more you feed them, not your live chickens, the fox will get careless, even a good .177 pellet gun will kill them
Thanks.

Welcome from KY!
Thanks.

wELKome!!.....last one I shot a 6.5x47L worked real well. 😅

There is a season on foxes, and season is not open. Call the Fish and Game.
I have a call into them.

Kit foxes maybe protected, they have a black line down the top of their tail
I'm pretty sure it's a red fox.

Foxes are real suckers for sardines packed in oil. Take two cans, pour them out from 6' high on the bark of a tree on two sides, you are creating a scent post. Now put another two open cans out on the ground at the base of the tree. They will come up right to your house. After they find the bait station, dry dog food will suffice.
Thanks, I will try this.

Make a false door out of cardboard or 1/4" plywood, put a hole in it to shoot out of. You can put a table, inside the house with sandbags and chair, all you have to do is push the safety off.

If you want to get more elaborate, put out three sensor lights forming a triangle. Put Red Lights in the sensor lights, and the foxes can not see the color red at all. The sensor lights can trip a beeper that you carry to bed with you. When the beeper sounds the alarm, do not turn on the lights in your house. Use a flash light with a red lens to see with in your house, Ebay has them, AA Mag lights with red lens.
Thanks, I will look into this.

You will need a depredation permit to dispatch the problem animals if they are not in season
I'm looking into this.

and I am assuming that you have a hunting license.
Nope, lol, but I got my California "Go ID" number and I've registered for a hunter training course.

You will be attracting coyotes and neighbor's yard dogs also. Your wife is going to hate you for being woke up at night.
I sure hope coyotes don't show up. Our property is fenced, so I'm not worried about dogs since most don't want to jump 5'. Wife? lol

I have killed a lot of foxes using Electronic callers and hand calls.
I had no idea those existed. Looking at videos now.

They can be hard to put down and keep down, but a CCI mini mag hollow point in the lungs will get the job done, but they may run off.
CCI?
