Hello from Casper, WY. ? here

Hey guys, I'm new to 'attempting' long range shooting/hunting. I currently shoot a 7mm Rem Mag and am getting a custom 300 RUM built that will be my LR rifle. I've found tons of useful info on this site and it seems like a great place to be. The question I have is related to posting. How do you keep track of everything you post on? Does it have something to do with the Trackback shown below your message when posting?

First of all, Welcome to LongRangeHunting. If you go into your "User Control Panel", which is under "Quick Links" to the right of the icons at the top you can make changes that you want.

If you look under options you will see that you can subscribe to threads/posts. Play with this as you might find that you get more notifications than you think. Also turn on the notification feature so you will be told about the posts and you can also receive email notification as well.

Thank you for your help. I got it all squared away and now don't have to search for the thread everytime I wanna see if there's new posts. It was a pain in the neck, haha.

How long have you been into shooting LR? I probably have no idea about what I'm getting myself in to, but I'm gonna give it everything I got. I have a guy building me a fully custom 300 RUM and I've decided on 210 Berger vld's. I haven't completely decided on a scope yet, there's so many to choose from and each one offers a little something different. I'm going to be hunting with this gun, but will also be doing alot of shooting as I would like to feel comfortable at shooting 1000-1200 yards. I don't think I would shoot game that far, but I would to know that I could if I really wanted to.

Welcome to LRH and long range hunting. Aint much of a shot but make a good spotter if your lookin for someone to burn powder with.
