Heavy bullets from Savage 110 Ultralite 300 wsm?

Hi! Does anyone know if there's enough magazine length to shoot bullets in the 210-220 grain range out of a factory Savage Ultralite 300 wsm? Thanks!

You should be able to. I currently run Berger 230's out of my Savage at SAAMI spec OAL with no problems. My mag I think has about an extra .1" of room.

2750 FPS out of a 20" barrel too , those Wsm are pretty efficient

That depends on bullet type and make, i.e., round vs. VLD and cup and core vs. monolithic (much longer). I propel 215 Berger (.080" off the lands) out of my Savage 10 FCNS .300 WSM 24" at 2850 FPS; not a slouch, IMHO.

You will need to find the best compromise between your COAL and CBTO to fit your magazine to feed safely.

Excellent info! I'm going to try Berger 215s and Hornady 225 eldms with Reloder 26. If I can get 2800 I'll be happy.

If you already have 215 Bergers, why not. There are claims that you get additional ~75-100 FPS using RL-26. I am using RL-17 on mine; I have some RL-26s but saving them for other load development on other rifles. As with anything else, YMMV. Even at 2700 FPS, it is no slouch if you run the numbers. You'll run out of throat before you hit the front of the magwell.

Unfortunately I had to seat the bullets deep in order for them to fit in the magazine. Tried Berger 208lrht, 215 Hybrids, Hornady 208 and 225 eldm.

In a long action 110? Is there a shortened mag in it? Can you swap out for 3.6" parts? All 3 of my rums fit 3.65" oal and should be the same basic gun as yours except for the barrel thread diameter.

It's a 110 but short action.

Mine is .080" off the lands (2.968 COAL) for the 215 Berger.
