Hearing Protection for Hunting

Not what the Op asked, but I bought the Otto a few years ago. Go them from Brownells so hopefully I will never need another pair.
Otto Hearing Protection
Those otto Noise barriers are the cats meow. I love hunting with these things during rifle season. These are literally the best hunting product I've ever bought. Love them and worth ever penny and some

How is the wind noise and is the regular setting okay for being able to hear something walking in?

Didn't notice any wind noise when on normal mode. Enhanced mode does pick up more sound, especially when walking and you can hear your footsteps, etc but when you take them out you don't hear your footsteps. So, I guess they work well picking up all sounds, even though it makes you sound like a herd of elephants stomping through the woods. You actually aren't making any more noise, you can just hear everything better, but it shuts off and blocks the muzzle blast when you fire. I especially like being able to hear my guide whisper when they are on enhanced mode since I am a little on the "hard of hearing" side.

Absolutely amazing product. It helps in every way and condition. Wind rain snow I don't care they are fantastic. For me they are unbelievable. I am not sure i have ever taken it out of regular setting.

Is this comment for the Pro Ears HTBT?

No, it is a reply to post #17 cm1021 asked 6.5x300WBY about the wind noise with the Otto Noizebarrier. I didn't mean to distract from your question about the Stealth 28 HTBT, but wanted to add my thoughts on the Otto Noizebarrier since others mentioned it.
I'm not familiar with the Stealth, but since you asked "If not those, what else?" I wanted to mention the Otto.

I have a couple pair of AXIL GS Extremes and I am happy with the results. I use them all the time... Mowing, Tractor work, Driving, Hunting, Tuning out the wife... They work better than any other hearing protection I have tried and the bluetooth feature allows me to listen to music, audiobooks, news etc from my phone and I never miss a call lol.

I am actually shocked to hear all the excellent reviews for ear protection while hunting. I tried a set of electronic ear protection buds last season, also thinking it would help hear better. It was the worst day ever. Everything was so loud. Same set I use at the range. Different tools for different jobs, right?

This had me thinking I might give them another try on the absolute lowest setting or possibly try a new set.
