Hammer bullets WTH

Shot ends today and hopefully we can get back to helping the op figure out the failures on his animals, by improving through discussion and design.

If we don't improve then I'm forced to break out the little blue pill!
Did the OP have a failure, or just performance he wasn't 100% happy with? I'll bet there are thousands of deer shot every season that don't drop at the shot. That doesn't mean all of the bullets failed.

I've said it for years and this thread proves it...the Hammer and Sherman cult are the thinnest skinned bunch of "men" on the Internet. Any type of criticism, even with proof, is disregarded and they start throwing tantrums. It's pretty funny really.

I do really like the look of the new Badlands with a polymer tip...oh I mean the new Hammer 😂 😂 😂
IDK. Go over to Rokslide and tell them a .223 is weak sauce and won't kill anything. That might take the cake.

Agree with you, however that particular bullet was not designed to function that way or at least it didn't function the way the regular Hammer hunters have. So I lean towards a yes it did. It's just my opinion is all.

I try to stay out of these…I really do lol. I just can't help myself sometimes. But for me…and just speaking for me, I choose what I want to use and if in the end I figure out that I chose poorly, then I change things up. If I don't want to shoot a companies bullet, then I don't.

Choose what you want and be happy. Life is too short for all of this.

I guess I don't recall anyone here saying not to use Hammers. I only recall discussions about concerns with certain Hammers, and what I'd consider valid concerns at that. These concerns were brought up because the OP experienced a situation that could indeed be a result of these same concerns. So it makes sense to discuss them here.

That's the way I see it anyways.

I also don't recall anyone saying what should be done or how they'd do it. It's been merely discussion. So I'm not sure how the thought that the experts here should form up and start their own bullet company came about, other than perhaps just getting offended by any perceived criticisms.

The mindset of, "if you don't like it, go do it yourself then" seems a bit immature in my opinion.

Just some thoughts to add to the discussion.

I could start a thread like this about Bergers. Or Badlands. Or Apex. You're not hearing my bad experiences here. I test stuff to break stuff. I like objective data, not emotional reactions to ill-defined expectations and results. Been a lot of posturing here by folks trying to exploit the opportunity to promote themselves, their attitudes, and/or their views and perceived expertise or whatever future personal agenda they might be serving. Some here find joy in any negativity related to a certain company and have been actively engaged in that way on this forum for years. All of this is self-diminishing. Others here have supported said company but have had some disappointments more recently. Guys who put honesty and integrity over ego. I applaud the heart it takes to do that. Maybe said company will meet your expectations again someday.

I guess it's hard because every individual person has their own idea of how a bullet should perform.

In my mind, the exact same bullet that he is referencing and the exact same cartridge has worked great for me, FOR ME lol. Havnt had an animal go farther than 20 yards from 382 to 820 yards. Found petals in every animal, didn't find the shank. BUT, they have all been in the vitals. If I shoot outside of the vitals, I don't expect the bullet to cover for me, that's on ME and I should either practice more or get closer.

I do believe the OP stated that his hits were all in the vitals. So I imagine he just has a different opinion of what a bullet should do than I do. If hammer is not willing to change the bullet up to meet the thousands of different requirements that tons of people have, should they not just go buy bullets from a different company that will meet their requirements?

Just discussing here.

How'd the lungs look? Like soup, or still mostly intact?

The sad thing in all this is friendships breaking because of a freaking bullet. You don't like HHTs? Fine, shoot HHs, or AHs, or for freak's sake, Partitions; they've killed a few critters.

Life's pretty short, gentlemen.
Agreed, but if there are valid concerns with certain/particular bullets or things about them, is that not something worth discussing to maybe improve for the betterment of anyone using them?

I don't see it as merely, "I don't like them".

The friendships breaking (at least the ones I'm thinking about), wasn't because of a bullet either. It was something much worse.

Why are we here on this forum if we can't or shouldn't discuss things like this?
