Anybody try H4895 in .308? A guy at the range today said he really liked it in his .308.

I've used 4895 in my .308 for years. If I remember my pet load correctly, I used 40.5 grains of 4895, with a Sierra 168 MK, seated to 2.820". That should yield about 2550 FPS.

Not to side track your question...but try some Ramshot TAC sometime. I think you will find it to be wonderful in the .308. But, if you want to shoot up some H4895, you should find it to be a suitable powder in .308. But again, Ramshot TAC and Varget will about do it all in the .308 and do it more consistently. TAC goes through a powder measure like water. I don't think you would ever look back. Good luck. Greg.

In the 308 Win with 165 Sierra Gameking the load that serves me well......I have won many matches and taken many different game from NC to Alaska with my SSG-69 Sniper Rifle.
