Gunsmiths Ruger m77markii?

Ok I have a Ruger m77 markii it's a 270win. Now can my bolt face be machined out to a magnum bolt face? I'm thinking of using it for a Sherman max cartridge build if the bolt face can easily be machined to a magnum.

I don't think it would be a problem. I sent a message to a gunsmith friend. If he answers to the contrary I'll let you know.

Sure, you can open the boltface, but you also need to open the action rails, change the follower for the fatter cartridge and change out the extractor.
It would probably be more cost effective to just buy a Ruger Hawkeye in the magnum cartridge you want. But, the choice is yours of course.
