gunsmith recomendation

I've had several rifles built by Kevin @ Montour County Rifle, a board sponsor. His work is excellent and he's a good guy to deal with. He recently built a new shop in PA.

One thing you should ask any competent smith, "What is the aprox delivery time?" Many are backed up so far it really isn't worth the wait when other well-known smiths can produce a high quality firearm in a more reasonable time frame.

Just an idea but why not make a sticky with smiths names, numbers, location, and website info.
I think this could serve the group well.

Jon Beanland!
Jon goes over and above to build it right! He does EVERYTHING himself, and I like that.
Jon has made several rifles for me, they all shoot under 1/2 minute ... and he is a heck of a nice guy.
You will be satisfied, if you get Jon to build you a rifle.

morning, if and when u decide what and who to employ.
buy all of ur components first. takes less time for the build.
get all the coating done first $200up. cost barrel-$400up-
action $350up-trigger-$150up-stock $350up-ammo box
feed-$150up. rings and mounts-$200up-scope-$500up
machine work $700up. I would contact Browning
Hell's Canyon and obtain info on there custom shop
to build a rifle. If not start shopping for parts.
just had a 22-250AI and a rechambered 257 Weatherby
and extra parts. Price of the machine work, $1350.50.
my cost me furnishing the parts and coating.
justme gbot tum.

I think any of the big names mentioned here will build a superior rifle. They are all masters of their craft.
The only thing I would do is call the shops who you are leaning towards and find out what their lead times are for a build. I would choose the guy with the quickest turn-around.
