That is a Savage heavy barrel B-mag,came with the cheap worthless plastic factory stock,I couldn't get better than an inch and a half at 100 yards, benched. Was ready to unload it,I mentioned it to the owner of a range in Dalton Ohio,Kelblys world re-knowned for building rifles that shoot. They took it in added a Boyds wood laminate stock, free floated the barrel and bedded the action, and now it shoots like this. This is benched in a lead sled ideal conditions at 100 yards, witnessed by one of the Kelblys whose company built it.The minute flyer was a wind gust, but would have hit my intended varmint. I'm loving this rig, haven't missed yet,but I practice relentlessly, only have taken one coyote so far, but haven't had the rifle over 6 months over a dozen GH's so far ,but when beans get cut that will triple.Eight shot group trigger, is at 2lbs breaks like a glass rod.Ohlongarm ,
What rifle are you shooting ? Nice looking rifle .
I see that cartridge is 17 WSM .
DMP25-06
THX,I've shot several more similar groups, will post later.Practice makes almost perfect.THAT is Impressive !!!!!
From my standpoint i'd say the WSM is not as loud as a 22 Hornet. But I never thought a 22 Hornet was that loud, the report of a 17WSM,didn't spook two GH's within 50 yards of each other, after one was shot, the other one was then shot ,maybe an exception but worth noting.Do you think the report from that WSM is any less loud than that of your .22 Hornet? I've got one place I hunt that could use more than a WMR/HMR but even a Hornet is a bit sharp for shooting near (away from) the bike path the property backs up to. (Not that I'd normally care much, but a lot of families are using it since the pandemic began.) Don't really want to spend the $ and hassle to go suppressed at my age.
