Got an Email from Marion Hammer this morning

Whatever faults the NRA has, they are still helping us fight against people who really have no clue what America was intended to be (thank you Founding Fathers for this great nation!) The NRA helps stave off those who have no interest in what the Constitution (to include the Bill of Rights) says. The NRA gives 'voice' to the 100,000,000 + gun owners (even though only 5,000,000 can "bother" to support the NRA...so sad :( )

I've been watching this 'battle' between pro-rights groups (like the NRA & GOA) and the let's-just-do-what-feels-right-in-the-moment-groups (like Bloomberg, Giffords, et al) for 40 years. It's always the same - they want our side to 'compromise'. Then compromise again. Then again. What that means is lost rights, more lost rights, ending with no rights. Then we are merely the UK, Australia, and every other European and Asian nation that has forfeited freedom for security, only to discover they got neither. Free people are called CITIZENS and they have rights; enslaved people are called SUBJECTS and they have priveleges. Without the NRA, we'd have transited to SUBJECT status many years ago.

God bless America and those that still fight for her, to include the NRA and GOA. For those that support with dollars and votes, THANK YOU! For those that find 'excuses' to not join or get to the ballot box on election day...search your heart. For the price of a box of shells, you could get a membership and truly help. And for 30 minutes of your time in a polling place, we could 'flip' the switch on the Progressives looking to undo the greatest nation on earth.

I'd appreciate it, as would my son (and your kids and your grandkids.)

I'm still convinced they have individuals that are playing games and very willing to trade a portion of our liberties for power. Although I renewed my membership, I donate regularly to the GOA, who is more in line with my thinking, and trying to win back our rights where we lost them for the most part, in the courts. While, they aren't always successful, they don't compromise our rights away. They win or lose. That's how I play, only I win or I learn. Learned that from competitive shooting. You never lose in competition, you only learn why you didn't win.

Wait, who is the leader of the GOA again? Has he ever spoken to president personally?

I recently heard trump say he supports universal background checks. Then he had a meeting with wayne lapierre and trump walked it back to background checks being off the table. (For now)
I think the GOA is a good organization and im sure they are doing good things for gun owners but they are playing AA ball. NRA is major league. My support goes to the nra-ila becuz theres just no way to deny those dollars do the most good in their hands

Socialists is bad because?
...it has never worked ANYWHERE in the world? Even in the Scandinavian countries, where people "think" they are Socialists, they really aren't. They have a capitalist economy and a free vote of the people. True Socialism doesn't ever work. Anywhere. Latest example? Venezuela. Just another failed 'socialist' state now turned dictatorial nightmare. And just to be clear, true Socialism rapidly deteriorates to Communism or a dictatorship because...Socialism is a failed concept of how to 'govern' a nation.

The UK dabbled with socialism and Margaret Thatcher pulled them from the ledge. Sweden dabbled with socialism and was also pulled back from the brink. Capitalism and a free economy works.

Here's a good read for those that "think" the Scandinavian countries are 'proof' Socialism works (hint - not true!):

We now return to the discussion of the NRA staving off the end of America and the discarding of the Bill of Rights by 'woke' idiots that are fond of electing folks with a "D" after their name. You know what really works to preserve the Constitution/Bill of Rights? PEOPLE VOTING FOR THE PRO-GUN CANDIDATE NO MATTER WHAT. How hard is that?

The NRA is like any other organization. If you want your input to be heard GET INVOLVED. Do more than simply send in your dues. Get on a committee, contribute to ILA, go to a convention, call or visit your legislative representatives. The NRA does more on any given Monday morning than all these Johnny come lately organisations have done since their inception. Sitting behind a computer and taking cheap shots at the NRA is not helping anybody. You are the NRA.

Most west European countries are deeply socialistic according to US standards and even the far right in Scandinavia is. Looking at US it's easy for us to say capitalism failed. I'm not left or right, but I react when either side is attacked for something I can't see as their fault.

It's not that hard, getting gun owners to do it is what's hard. I see many AR15 owners at the range that have stated that they have never voted. I try to convince as many as I can to vote for the pro-gun candidates. But there are some, that have some pretty expensive ARs, that fail to comprehend the nature of the predicament we could be in after the 2020 elections.

OD,

I am curious; could you be more specific and state the facts of what the NRA has done or not done?
