What would be a good recipe using berger 190 gr. and Reloader 22? Open to all options though... Not sure the 210 bergers will make it into the mag well...

Thanks for the input!!!:D

Savage 116 with shilen barrel 26" varmint style contour . Mcmillan Stock.

Looking for a good long range recipe that will be the least temp. sensitive.

My temps. will be 100 degrees to 20 degrees if that matters.

I got excellent accuracy from my Savage 112BVSS, .300WinMag using 190gn SMK's, H1000 and CCI 250 primers.
I used 79.0 thru 80.5gn (.5 gn increcents) and accuracy for the four loads was .142", .522", .496" and .418", respectively. Velocity averaged form 3025fps to 3145fps.
My OAL is 2.9090" but my rifle is a single shot and this bullet is .010" off.
Have not tried the Bergers in this rifle yet. JohnnyK.

Bergers are undoubtedly great bullets, but I have had a lot of success with 178 grain HNDY A-Maxs, and 74 grains of varget. After I ladder testing this load in my Tikka T-3 I found that the varget had a very large window for accuracy. If I was one grain to heavy or light it really doesn't matter. Chrono was showing this load to consistently hold muzzle velocity jumps between 30 fps. Shot several 2.5 inch groups at 500 and several 1.5 inch groups at 200. Brass was nickel plated winchester, and primers were cci 200 large rifle.

Thanks for all the info guys! If anyone else has had luck with others please share:)

I look forward getting this thing moving and hitting some plates... and bone in a few monthsgun)
