Matte finish, this scope is excellent condition I bought it new and mounted it in talley lightweights it has VERY slight ring marks. You have to look hard to see them...never been over torqued..it does have the friction coin slot turret adjustments..I think it was one of the last VX IIs that had these however it has always held zero fine...$235 shipped
