I, like many I'm sure, do way more reading/skimmimg through these forums than posting. I learn so much from the guys posting often and am very thankful of them sharing their knowledge / experience often which is hard to find in one place. One thing I have noticed in my older age is that the builds and rifles often shared are builds that use very high quality components aka $$$ and less common calibers etc.. I'd like to hear about anyone else out there has ever used the less expensive spare parts in their shop to create a rifle that you could just throw around without much love that became one of your favorite ugly step children 1. Under $400 total with optic, 2. Sub MOA at min of 800 meters being shot by you ( no sled), 3. You performed all the work on.
I'll start with : M98 action Turk, Sarco mil surplus heavy.308 target barrel, Timmney trigger, rewelded bent bolt, b square rail, swift premiere 4x12 scope and a cut down orig Mauser stock…. Wish I had a pic to post.. it was ugly…,loved that rifle till the not expertly welded bolt handle snapped off at the range….
