G'day,

Just thought id share a few photos of some of the 59 foxes i have shot so far this year. Best effort was 37 over 3 consecutive nights. Rifle used is a Steyr Pro Varmint 223 with a Swarovski Z5 5-25x52. Ammo used is Sierra 69gr Matchkings & 23 gr of ADI Benchmark 2 powder. Ranges between 200 - 400 meters all under the spotlight using a scotch predetor caller.

Thanx guys. They are starting to go off the call @ the moment as mating season is right around the corner. Have just got given a CD that has a Vixen in heat call on it that is meant to bring em in when the predator calls wont work. As for 100 bucks a pelt that would be nice but sadly those days are gone and id need to buy a 17 Rem for that kinda work like the old fox shooters from the 70's in Australia used. The government had a bounty on a couple of years ago for $10 a tail and there is talk of bringing it back due to the high populations around @ the moment.

even 10 dollars a tail would over all expenses for a hunt like that and leave enough over for a nice dinner afterwards :D

BTW nice LH rifle, southpaws all the way! gun)

the flutting on your barrel is sexy!!! is that a 24 inch barrel? I didn't get mine futted due to lack of funds. Is it bad to flut it after the barrel is completed?

get mine in a week or so.

noice! ya mine is 26 inch. its gonna be freakin heavy. but awesome. I hope i can get some yotes this year. I have to get my trappers license to shoot more than one. Otherwise you can only shoot one wolf or coyote per season here in manitoba. I love shooting gophers tho. You blast em and no clean up work after ;) hope the weather is nice on monday. I'm building a cheap electric call like the one on varmintal.com website. what do you use as a call? i tried for some yotes last deer season and no success. There are way too many coyotes where we hunt to the point that the deer population has notceably reduced. they need some blasting for sure. gun)

neutral, I use a Scotch Predator Call most of the time and find that most effective, however sometimes the foxes get used to the one call and mix it up a bit with the tin button whistle which sounds like a screaming rabbit. The scotch call is a hare call.

Awesome pics mate great shooting but I'm afraid to say I hate you just a little bit haha. How many properties were you on and what were the sizes? Went pig hunting last weekend and this weekend going fox and rabbit hunting hope my bad luck changes and nail me a truck load of foxes

gun)
