Formula to convert inch’s to moa

This thread has turned beyond complicated...the OP wanted to know how to take his group size in inches to minutes, that's all. It's been answered as simply as possible a few times.

There's one more formula that hasn't been discussed yet. This is the interesting part of angular mathematics. The "mil-ranging formula" is the most basic algebraic formula to use and once you commit it to memory it can be applied for many applications, which helps a lot for keeping it simple. Using Dog Rocket's example on the previous pg-- 8.5" correction at 523 yds., here it is--
8.5 x 100/1.0472/x=523, x=1.55
