Thank you all for your help.
I think I got the problem cleared up. I cleaned the barrel off and on for three days, using liberal amounts of Hoppes, patches, ammonia, alcohol and a little bore polish paste and last but not least; Sea Foam. I think the latter being what did the trick.
Additionally, this week I prepped all my Lapua brass and after cleaning I annealed the necks. The prepping process was made somewhat easier and quicker with the Frankford Arsenal Case Trim and Prep Center. This is a tough little machine and I really like it!
I used the same load as before (59.0gn Retumbo, CCI BR2's, 140gn A-Max) and sighted in at 100yds. My POI was 2" low. That was strange, as before I cleaned it the same load printed 3.25" hiigh. Made me realize how much that build-up affects my MV and chamber pressure.
After setting my scope, I dialed for 996yds, first group was 4" with all bullets drilling paper as they should. After shooting a couple more groups, my partner and I moved to 1096yds and I shot a 8"group, again perfect little .26 caliber holes. Those are not competition winning groups but I was happy with the outcome of this weeks corrective action.
Again guys, thanks!
P.S. My OAL didn't revert back to my journal entry, soooo I guess that was a mistake on my part. My seating die was locked in to the correct OAL. Good thing I check OAL a lot! JohnnyK.
