This is my third 20 practical. My first was a semi custom Remington 700. I didn't treat that gun well …rarely cleaned it and shot it way too many and shot too fast. Barrel was gone in no time.
I have a 20 practical with a 1:9 twist that I was going to use 55 grain Bergers, but they are very hard to find. my third is also on a semi custom Remington 700 but I have a 1:11 twist Barrel to specifically shoot the 39 and 40 grain bullets.
This one started out really well, but then started going south as you can see by the picture. The rifle is not bedded, and when I took it apart, I found an area in the Stocks recoil channel that the recoil lug was hitting on. I will Dremel it out and bed it and it should bring the Accuracy back.
With as expensive reloading components are nowadays, I decided to start shooting a little bit cheaper cartridges.

Primers have cratering…but no other signs of pressure. Factory fire pin/spring. I think I will change it out and see if that helps

Thoughts?

Until Grafs pays Berger to do another run, I think they're gone. Someone on another site said they contacted Berger and that they were making some, but not many.

Black Hole bullets used to make something similar. Not sure what they're doing any more through.

Finally got this bedded. I'm not for sure if it doesn't likes the powder or the bullets. I will try N133 or H4895 next. But there was some improvement from my first groups.

I just built a 20P in a manual AR with a Wilson 10 twist. 39BK, 24.9 of N133, 400's, 2.855(.080" jump), 3875fps. I would like it to be a little more accurate, but is very consistent at 5/8" @100.

Thanks . I plan to use N133 next and was going to start at 23g in a bolt gun
