There are plenty of elk hunting opportunities. There are private ranches that have "captive" herds which virtually guarantees success. You will always have a "hunting experience", the success depends on many factors including your pocketbook. I have hunted elk in Colorado, Idaho, Utah and Montana. Always expensive. Current prices begin around $8K and go up to 3 times that amount (yes, $24K). Much depends on whether you want a large trophy bull (can get a 6x6 for the $8K on private ranches, can go much higher also) but again depends on pocketbook and time willing to spend looking.
