Lots of good recommendations here. A lot of it is planning... don't know how much research you did before hand but you probably should have had a good idea what it would to be like with the right questions..Some one earlier mentioned "welcome to a guided hunt" well that statement in BS...I have been on guided hunts that I was rubbing butt cream between my chafed legs on day 2...it is also hunting--I have killed my animal on day one, and have struggled to get an animal on day 12--so don't look down on good luck. I know lots of folks come in with unrealistic expectations on hunts--thinking it's going to be like hunting in 1900s--or they want that experience but don't want to pay the price for access to the area...in the end I hope your next elk hunt is up to your expectations, it's a lot of fun--and can be a lot of work...I'm starting to prefer less work!
