Look guys, I just keep up with this stuff to try and help out "being informed" I got time as I'm disabled from multiple back surgeries. Just my thoughts on this one......They're falling in line with the rule that just went in effect for the frames and receivers for the terrifying scary BOOOOOO guns. But to not take anything weapon related from an individual earks my hide, even when the law suits are done and the rule is found unconstitutional "which we all know is" they'll go back to shipping for us again. After doing this to us, the only thing I'll ship thru them is the little jar for my colon test!

Here is how i send firearms via UPS. I have a UPS account. I make my own shipping labels with correct size and weight and shipping. I reference the firearm and serial number when I make label. UPS Accepts it because it's prelabeled and prepaid. I have shipped 3 rifles this way without any issue.

I understand this completely. But what about the fellow that wants to ship a bbl or other part that has no #'s?

I must have been under a rock as I always thought shipping firearms (defined as firearms and not unregistered components) always needed to go through a FFL.

I think if you have a prepaid label it will still work. I asked one of the employees and he said as long as it's prelabeled they don't get involved. So far it has worked for me.

A private party can ship a firearm, but it must go to an FFL for transfer to the buyer if that person resides in a different state. I believe that some states allow private intrastate shipping/sales of firearms without going through an FFL.

You can ship a barrel via UPS without any #'s. UPS stores even take them if they're labeled already.

No shipping of firearms from individuals even to FFL. The UPS customer center won't take it. You can print a label at home and schedule a pick up according to them.

I did this last week with a rifle I shipped to Florida. That is correct

Which is fine right up until the time you have to make a claim. I hope it never happens, but I'm not rolling those dice and I'm not giving my money to companies that don't want it.

My FedEx experience has been unhappy. No FFL business but hazard stuff like powder. The FedEx driver is driven to deliver & hits my doorbell, waits 1 min, sticks a delivery note on door then runs and drives off. The Fed Ex procedure is for the customer to ask FedEx to deposit the item at a local FedEx agent should the customer not be available to sign for the item. In my situation that would be a Walgrens drug store & Walgrens does not like hazardous items next to Viagra & other items of vital sociological importance to our thriving liberal community.

As for FFL stuff, gas up the car, plan on a nice lunch, bring the binocs & camera and have a nice day.

Why the hell not, both cause a projectile to leave the chamber, albeit, the little blue bill is slow and drastically changes the contour

"Golf clubs" work too. I never tell UPS/FedEx what I'm shipping. If it's stolen file claim on your personal insurance.
