Winchester primers are hotter than any other primer available, including Federal primers.
Cheers.

They're just so hard to get in those Lapua SRP cases.I'm using CCI 450 Magnum on my small primer 6.5 CM rounds, I don't see why 215M wouldn't work....try it
Retumbo is notoriously more difficult to ignite big charges. Especially some batches.I'm using CCI 250's to light ~ 100 grains of N570...
Uh… you made no mention of small or large primer brass. So when you mentioned 215 primers I assumed it was large rifle primer brassThey're just so hard to get in those Lapua SRP cases.
That is our Competition Primer Seater.@ Orcan What priming tool is that? My Rcbs hand held went tits up on me so I've been using my press….
I did not take it as an attack as I have no favorite primer I was just saying they worked for me, and was shocked to hear they might not work for someone else but igniting as much powder as you do you are in a whole Nother league I don't have any experience with.Retumbo is notoriously more difficult to ignite big charges. I had no idea this would create such responses. My post was simply to let people know that certain primers are much better at handling certain powders and heavy charges than others. If you took it as an attack on your chosen primer, I'm sorry.
During my .270 WSM load Development, I found that, my groups, shrank by about, a 1/4 to 3/8ths of, an inch at, 200 Yards using, the F-215's over, the Win Primers ( using, IMR 7828 Powder ).Any issues running these in some of the short mags?
