Farthest Elk Kill with either/or 30-06/270?

Never an elk with an 06 but killed an elk sized gemsbok at 380 yards using a 150 grain Barnes TSX. The optics on my .300 win mag took a dump so I ended up using the 06 on everything. I had only planned on using the .30-06 on smaller antelope so took only 150 grain bullets. I also killed a very large kudu at 325 yards with the same load. I was very surprised at how effective the monolithic bullets were even at the lighter weight.

I'd like to hear from you guys that have killed bull or cow elk with either/both the 30-06/270. What were your loads/bullets and type of terrain you normally hunt? (Its hot outside, give me the scoop!:) )
30-06 180 Nosler Accubond 467 yards, with that gun I actually took 4 elk in a row over 400 yards and that’s also the reason I why I know use a 28 Nosler, makes 800 yards seem like 400.

My mules and i pack out nephews for Bull Elk. The young dudes grew up deer hunting with 270s. I prefer 30 caliber but since we initially back pack in 4 to 6 miles for elk 270 Weatherbys with 140 regular Accubonds are doing the job at 200 to 450 yards.

I apologize for not answering the question. 450.

In all my years, I have never seen a 270 wby or a 7mm Weatherby new or used! At one time, I would have used either one. I think they are great rounds just by reading about them! I've seen 300wbys, just never used, preferring the 300WM/Remington 700 platform. Never saw a 378 but .460 yes and I actually shot a young man's new Mk V in 416 wby/400gr....ouch! Brutal! Ahh but that 240 and 257, I've owned/use several each! Perfect deer/Exotics rifles!
