Fantastic Price on Bushnell Elite Tacticals

I have read and heard on the internet (so therefore it must be true) that she SHV does not track well. I have avoided them for that reason only.
Can someone with first hand experience shed some light on this.
Sorry to hear Bushnell glass is not clear.
A buddy of mine just bought the SHV and had me mount it and sight it in for him. Box test worked flawlessly....no issues here

.

I just got back from my first trip out with the Bushnell HDMR II and I'm very impressed. The glass is fantastic. The reticle is fantastic. And the scope tracks perfectly.

I would buy it again for sure.

And so would the instructors of my PRS class I just took. Several of them ran the exact same or an earlier version of this scope. They also said many of the elite shooters they train use them too.

I guess I'm a Bushnell apostle now.

Only major downfall is one model offering illuminated reticle ...they need to pick up the pace... otherwise great optic

Sincere questions here:
Do you find illuminated reticles useful? Under what conditions do you use it?

I have several scopes with the feature and I rarely use the lit reticle. I have once during a elk hunt right at first legal light. It was helpful. But other than that I never really felt the need for it.

I have had several elite tacticals, a couple SHVs and some Japanese Weavers. They all are made at LOW in Japan, all are great quality. The SHVs were bright and clear, but had thick reticles. The bushys were feature rich, with very acceptable glass, the SHV beat them in glass, but not by much, and the 14 power with thick reticle, put the SHV behind the bushys for me. I no longer have any of those, but I do have three Japanese weaver tacticals, and they beat them all in glass, but the reticles are pretty basic mil dot and improved mild dots, the reticles are functional for me, and I'm still glad I kept the Weavers.

In Canada and from what I am watching and hearing from USA our game is becoming more and more nocturnal. I use mine at breaking Dawn, last light and in rain and if a target is against dark background...so yes to me it's very important. Baiting animals with the exception of bears and in certain zones only is illegal in my Province so first and last light are small windows of best opportunity!

To say that Bushnell scopes lack clarity or low light performance is not something I've ever heard. They make some of the clearest and best performing scopes in low light situations of any scopes at any price.

They're only moderately good on tracking though.

My 3 SHV scopes all track dead on accurately and I haven't heard of anyone else having problems either.

The Elite Tacticals track far better than "moderately good." My LRHSi and LRTSi scopes have tracked perfectly.

Every bushnell Elite tactical I've used or have seen in use track very well. The LRTS is a benchmark for low light (dusk and dawn) shooting in our shooting group. I've shot coyotes that I couldn't see without the optic on more than 1 occasion and they looked pretty darn clear. I have nicer scopes now but I won't sell that LRTS.

Those SHV scopes are made in the same factory as the bushy elites.
I have had both and both tracked equally good. LOW won't let a optic out that won't track. If one doesn't, is a flawed scope, not a flawed mechanical setup. All companies have flawed individual scopes.
