I like the idea too. I just fear that this may not be a good action choice.interesting concept for a wildcat. keep us posted!

Leave caliber in what the action was designed for.....I have a hopkins allen 932 In 32-20, I picked it up cheap and it doesn't need much work. After cleaning the bore you can see it's pitted badly. So now for the million dollar question. Do I install a liner and go back 32-20 or how big can I go with an 1880s action and a cartridge that has a better brass selection?
I'm a big fan of falling blocks but I know nothing about the H/A and I'd hate to go with a 22 ackly hornet and it blow up after all the work.
My 1885 was built in 1892 and chambered for the .25RF. It was in rough shape cosmetically, but mechanically very sound. I wanted an original Lo-Wall to shoot. I was considering several different calibers, but after much research I became learned about the limitations on chamber pressure limits of firearms from this era. I chose a liner for the .38 Special which is perfectly safe where .357 Mag is above safe limits.I think 38 special would be more inline with the 32-20 as far as respective pressures.
