Explain to me how my vote matters in a state that always gets the Dem electoral college vote...

If Trump (or simply a republican) wins the popular vote, there's no way that he loses the electoral vote for one. States can be flipped. This is the year for that if there ever was.

Lastly, state elections are the elections that matter the most when it comes to your day to day life, and it helps regardless of the presidental election if the senate, and Congress isn't packed with more swap creatures.

Presidential candidates that held the popular vote lost the electoral college vote 5 times in US history. It can happen. Last was Hillary Clinton in 2016.

That because you're not aware how the polling metrics are modeled and measured.

Conservatives never have the popular vote. Not in a long time. That's why in THIS case, the popular vote would be a key indicator to an electoral win.
