Reading a thread: Dropping charges and weighing charges makes me wonder how many use electronic measures (such as RCBS charge master) and electronic scales?
I havnt yet, I use an old Redding measure and a RCBS 10-10 scale
What do you use? / prefer?

I started with a beam scale and progressed to a middle of the road electronic scale to now a FX120i scale. No comparison in my opinion to the accuracy of the FX120i scale. It can detect difference in weight down to ONE individual kernel. Also, I measure EVERY load.
It is also very fast with the auto-trickler. I used a beam scale (modified by Scott Parker) when I first started reloading and it was very slow. I still have it in the closet as a backup to the FX120i.

I've used a couple of electronic scales. They all drift. The Hornady I have is terrible. Back to dropping and trickling on an old ohaus scale. I do low volume hunting loads so it's not a deal breaker. The chargemaster may be enough for some folks. With a few mods they do ok. The new setups with the lab balance scales are the way to go if you want speed and accuracy.

I am not in that big of a hurry and don't load a "bunch" in any sitting so the manual process works for me now….maybe later though.

Are you using the auto trickler with the A&D scale? Edit I just saw your reply. So you are using a manual trickler.

No drifting that I have incurred with the FX120l. It is a big difference from all those other cheaper electronic scales.

I use a charge master for 10 years the McDonald's straw trick different settings from YouTube. It works very well but it's always backed up with a second electronic scale.

May I ask who makes this scale?

I leave mine plugged in and will sometimes come back after several weeks or more and the test weight is dead on at 50g. It is high on the list of last things I would want to give up from my reloading bench.

Regarding the drift, I think it has to do with the type of room you're working in, and if the unit has reached "operating temp." I have no facts other than my experience but maybe some of you have experienced the same thing.

If you leave the auto trickler on for a hour or so before throwing and zero it out, usually it doesn't drift as bad if at all. As far as the type of room, my AC registers are on the ceiling about 5 feet from the bench. Sometimes when the air is blowing and the register is open, there will be some drift. I close the register when working on the bench.
