With all the ELDs I have used in multiple calibers and bullet weights I have found .020" is the place I start and stay. It's a good distance off the lands for reliability and accuracy. Did the same with the AMAX before them.
That said they also do not mind a jump either again like the AMAX. In some rifles when I shoot factory loaded ELDs they are jumping .090" and still shoot great. Here is a 147 ELD group from my Creedmoor that was jumping .090. It's 5 shots at 650 yards. Shot the bottom three and saw one splash so i moved my POA up slightly and shot last two.
