Where are you at with RL33 and the Berger 300 Hybrid? A few years ago I bought some new Bertrom brass and a pile of RL33. My plan was to use up my Rem brass and H1000 and then make the switch, but it took FOREVER as I got 7 loadings out of the rem brass. 91 grains H1000 behind a 300 Berger in a 31 inch tube netted me 2840..right about where everyone else was. VERY accurate, very stable, very repeatable and no PSI !!!
I did a touch of tinkering back then just to see. I Used the same lot of bullets and started at 96 grains of RL 33 as it seamed most guys were in that 102 - 106 grain range. I was shooting three shot groups. I had PSI right away at 96 and the groups were bad. and only shot the 96, 97, and 98 before the PSI got way to bad and I quit I have wipe marks on the 96 grains loads and the 98 grains loads may well have destroyed the brass. Put everything back on the shelf till today...which is when I REALLY looked over the brass and saw how bad it was. I still have the loaded rounds left over and will re weigh the powder when I tear them down.
Anyway......I now am going to start using the Bertrom brass, but am going to stick with the H1000 for now. I backed off to 89 and will work up, but as the Bertrom brass is somewhat heavier i probobly will end up around 89.5 - 90. H1000.
Just wondering where you guys were at with RL 33 and the bertrom brass. Hell...I'd also like to know where you ended up with H1000 and the Bertrom brass. Did you notice much difference between the Rem and the Bertrom? We have a second EDGE and have used the Bertrom since new and it's prefered load is 92 H 1000 @ the same 2840...No PSI and accurate as hell!!
Thanks, and sorry for the long winded post.
