I wasn't being disrespectful, nor am I by saying this. I have never seen a 300ultra win any matchs, I can't imagine a necked down elephant cartridge lasting more than 500 rounds in competition.

It's not quite an elephant cartridge, it's more along the lines of ..... a Cape Buffalo....

I have the barrel with special treatment for the inside: pretty tuff stuff. once applied can't be filed off...they use it on engine components for those race cars like in the Daytona 500...And the Metal manufacturing plant I worked for used it on their metal cutting die's. The dies lasted 1/2 year before needing maintenance... in a 5-day, 24 hours work load.

About 10 yrs ago I had a 300 Win mag, after 2,000 rounds it's still a shooter!
