My Ultra has an insert as a direct thread. I'd call them and see if they could put the right 1/2" DT insert on your can. Cost you a phone call to the bet customer service out there.
No reason whatsoever. Just make sure that you drill the bore straight and large enough for the bullet you are shooting. The brake on my 300 WM was installed by America's Gunsmiths. It started out as a .223 brake and cut the recoil back to that of a .243.I have a 30 cal Ultra 7 coming. The smallest thread they make the 30 cal mount in is 9/16x24. I am shooting 7mm and if I only have .600 at the muzzle would there be any reason I shouldnt just thread it 1/2x28 and buy the .223 brake and just drill it out for 7mm?
