Yeah having them bark at you won't help deer hunting. It depends if you want them to be friendly with you, or if you want them to stay away. It can be a touchy thing when you're out in the country with neighbors. If the dogs pose no threat then you may want to tread lightly if you want a good relationship with your neighbor. If that's not a concern then I check the local laws before making a decision. I have a friend who wants me to go out to their cattle ranch to thin out the coyotes. But they also have a neighbor who lets their dogs roam on their ranch. Those dogs have harassed their livestock so they went away. I love dogs but I said I wouldn't let them harass the livestock which is legal in my state.I have a sling shot that is pretty convincing and that was my first instinct.
