Dogs on property

Discharging a firearm in city limits. Is what he said . Sounds crazy shoot the pit bull chasing you into your garage and get charged.
That's beyond crazy. Those laws do not include self preservation. If you shot the dog and killed it as it was running you down and got charged with anything I would be really surprised. If that was me it would definitely go to court. Just saying.

Reminds me of my uncles saying "shoot, shovel, and shut up ". Be responsible for our own also. I have had to put down a dog, and would sadly do it again if necessary. When my kids were both young teenagers, they wanted dogs of their own. We had 160 acres in eastern Oregon. My son found an ad from town for a malemute/wolf hybrid pup. Our nearest neighbors were 3/4 of a mile away, so we got him. It was always interesting to see the wolf side of him. He was always friendly with people and our other animals, not so much with animals. You wouldn't believe how quickly he could take down strange animals. Like jumping our 5' gate, the pasture fence and taking down a doe that was crossing the field. Or the off-leash Rottweiler that charged him when my wife was jogging with him leashed on the beach. Anyway, one day he jumped the fence and killed a neighbor's sheep. We went to him and apologized, asked his price for the sheep, and payed him. We then asked him if it would be OK with him if instead of putting Yukon down, we would keep him chained, then build a 6 foot fence with barbed wire on top, and electric wire at the bottom around our large back yard. He kindly agreed.
There was never another problem with dog or neighbor till Yukon died of old age. He shared the yard with our other dog, and got daily walks on leash in the woods and hills.

When I turned around the dog ran right into the end of the gun . Hit him right on the snout. It was enough to turn him around. The neighbor is a anti gun đź«Ź hat. We've already had words after he called the cops on my daughter. It would have been ugly. Sadly it's not the dogs it's usually bad owners. A pit bull is about the only dog I'd back down from . There jaw strength is incredible. A buddy I knew had one and it could pop a basketball . We would lift the dog clean off the ground and spin around and it would not let go .

Put out some antifreeze
My dad had a wild pack of dogs coming in the middle of the night, ended up killing 47 of his goats, I told him to get some hamburger meat, mix in some full strength antifreeze and fly bait, he did so that night and the next morning the entire pack was drt within 10ft of the bait
