DIY Tuna Creations

Dried sausages have always been a staple in my expedition pantry.
I have spent many weeks at a time in the Bush, hunting and fishing and always took them with us.
Depending on the menu, you can slice or shave off pieces to add flavor and protein to your meal as well as just eat them straight.

I did not consider dried sausage. We have an old family recipe for a dried swiss sausage that i will have to dabble with when we slaughter our beef later this year.

Calories are more important than protein. If you're set on using wet tuna id use one pack of tuna per day and focus on packing other high calorie snacks that are higher in protein to offset that. Personally I do not focus on protein much. I know what my calorie intake needs to be per each type of hunt and I focus on that. The types of bars and jerky, nuts, and freeze dried meals etc. generally come with enough protein to make it sufficient. If you want more protein I'd maybe pack powder but you'll be burning calories like no other so calories are your gas station not protein.
