Definitely thought about the Tubs! Or just some daggum regular bullets! Get on wit it! COME ON NOW! WHOOO!I'm to impatient with things like this.
Run a few tubs projos through it.
If your gonna experiment like a mad scientist, you gotta be willin to except the failures along with the marvelous discoveries!
SWAG with no data to back it up. Chemical reaction with something in the barrel. Bullet coating, powder? Powder additive? Moisture? Something. Someone try this on a clean barrel. I'm not going to but I'll bet no reaction. Heck, just for peace of mind try it on the outside of the barrel it seemed to harm in a little place under the forearm. I'll bet no reaction occurs, but you will never know, and neither will we unless you try. Experiment!!Nope, I alcohol flush and use a degreaser prior to firing sessions. The accelerator went in with no other chemicals.
I've left the two products in overnight on barrels for years too. Weird. I had another barrel produce the reddish stuff, but it didn't fuzzy up like this one.
I meant I didn't mix products. Obviously reacted to something in the bore, but isn't that what a bore cleaner is supposed to do?SWAG with no data to back it up. Chemical reaction with something in the barrel. Bullet coating, powder? Powder additive? Moisture? Something.
Experimentation is why this thread is here! LOLSomeone try this on a clean barrel. I'm not going to but I'll bet no reaction. Exactly LOL. Why not finish the experiment?I meant I didn't mix products. Obviously reacted to something in the bore, but isn't that what a bore cleaner is supposed to do?

Exactly LOL. Why not finish the experiment? Bore cleaner should soften the fouling. Not react to it. I've also seen a similar reaction with ss barrels and moly bullets along with moisture, but that causes pitting, not globs sitting on the steel
My immediate task is to experiment how to get this crap out of my barrel!Exactly LOL. Why not finish the experiment?
