I do not know this rifle, however I am tempted to make the purchase. WHAT I CAN SAY is that if Dennis Olson put this rifle together, it was put together properly and it will/or would shoot once it was done. He is one of the last "ole school" gunsmiths out there. Dennis has put together a number of rifles for me over the past years, Ruger 77s tang safety rifles, all are MOA or sub MOA. The last that I knew he has retired, and I am sorry to see him go, great gunsmith, and a good man to do business with. RaoulGood luck with your sale - I just took a shot at my 906 yard gong with my M70 Edge.
I do appreciate your honesty WRT the barrel - every time someone posts a custom build they state the round count anywhere from 50 to 150 - my thoughts are always, "Really?"
Just to be very clear…..I'm not questioning Dennis's work.I do not know this rifle, however I am tempted to make the purchase. It has about 1000 rnds on the barrel. It shot several sub-half MOA groups in the first 100 rounds….while fireforming with bullets. Then shot 3/4 MOA for a while. I ran out of powder and bullets, then found the brass thin……that started a full rework of loads p(and fireforming) that never shot well. Like 2" 5shot groups. Scope, mount, bedding, everything checked out. I've never seen that before….i'm calling it shot out.

Yup I totally agree with you on a carbon ring. Dennis has another gunsmith working on helping him to catch up on his unfinished projects, Matt Cockrell; MC Gunsmith. Matt came highly recommended by Lilja barrel company, he was their barrel guy for like 23 years. He recently built a Ruger 77 for me, his workmanship was impeccable. If you really like the rifle it might be worth letting him take a look at your gun. What is the year of manufacture of your gun? Is it a pre64 or a Classic?Sorry, I took it as a compliment to the rifle/Dennis's work. I read every word you wrote.
I guess I'm just hung up on how to sell it. I'm not really trying to sell as an Olson custom because it has so many rounds on it. That expectation would lead to finding the gun shoots 2" groups and being disappointed. If you bought it as a shot out rifle, then a person would expect 2" or bigger groups.
On the other hand, the work is good. It may be something like a carbon ring, copper fouling or specific bullet profile I'm overlooking. I doubt it, but who am I to say.
