For sale….custom Winchester model 70 in 300 Sherman
Action: Winchester 70 CRF long action; Timney trigger 1.5lb; Win mag LA; PTG BDL Bottom metal
Barrel: Brux 10 twist ~10 twist. I think it is shot out and am assigning 0 value, but at only 1000 rounds, it could be something I'm doing wrong…..or did wrong; NECG front sight installed by gunsmith.
RR Sight: NECG Peep sight fits on scope base
Stock: customized Bell & Carlson Stock 14" LOP; short SRS ARCA rail; 4x grovtec flush cups; bedded to this action; small chip under the bolt handle. Repaired. Not structural.
Scope Mount: Warne bases and 30mm QR rings
Built by Dennis Olson of Plains, MT. Cerakoted elite blackout. The action has some small finish issue on the RR tang. I'm not sure if I can make it visible, but I would refinish if I were doing again.
Dies: Whidden bushing dies with micrometer seater; full set of expanders; no bushings included.
$3000 or so invested. Since I think the barrel is shot out, I'm selling for the value of action, stock and dies. That said, maybe a skim bedding or something else could fix it….i really don't know and have lost interest.
So, my price is: $1500 for everything listed. I will include 100 formed brass if someone wants. I'll break up if I get a good offer on the action. If you have another offer, PM me. I hate to not rebarrel this myself, but money and time are tight. I'm going back to a factory gun for now.
Ask about shipping. Gunsmiths seem to be charging $120ish right now. I think I can beat that as my FFL just charges me what it costs him. I will charge what I calculate. Looks like $90 or so…roughly OH to MT.
I prefer cashiers check or personal check for payment.
