You're not going to burn out a 6.5x284 any time soon with that attitude.

Build it. You'll love it. You'll be addicted and shoot more.

Burn the barrel out and build another.

By the time you shoot 1,000 rounds, the new barrel is a fraction of what you're spending on gas to get to the range.
