There is in my opinion a lot of good people on here with experience in buying and putting together their next rifle and it helps when we share the real information we have gathered in the process of building and buying I hope that the vendors are paying attention to us hard when we express our opinions
Well sometimes another manufacture will have a reamer that you need NOW in stock. Thats probably why
Hopefully that wasn't really misleading. He said it could take 6 months and usually takes a lot longer than stated and that if you order a resizer reamer you'll probably have to send it back once.
He said it was a good option if you're ok waiting awhile and want to save some $ and don't mind the lack of CS.
That reasoning baffles me, ive never had JGS take more than 4 months and every reamer has been spot on
WOW at least "90" + threads on this post for a simple answer on "Wait Times" for reamers. Then complaints about PTG and what mason and JGS does. I have seen members posting how they " Hand Load" and others complaining about what Reamers they got and others what they should have got and quality.
Can anyone that posts a reply give a "REAL STRAIGHT" answer???
Pretty simple. If you bought a PTG Reamer(s) how long to get from manufacture to me ordering to your door. If you never bought from PTG don't answer and don't bring up your past with other issues at PTG
Anyone that is a Gunsmith or Barrel manufacture knows exactly what is going on in this environment for machining supplies. IT IS TAKING FOREVER FOR MATERIALS & SUPPLIES..
If you want-wanted a custom rife you should have ordered at least a year ago. The writing was on the wall years ago. Don't blame GunSmiths, Barrel Manufactures, Action Manufactures for wait times. Most probably blame yourself. We (all the smart reloaders shooter) knew since 2008 this was going to be a long road to haul and that you need to PREP. Some people the last years called "HORADING" because other shooter had supplies and they didn't, because they didn't prepare or voted in the the incorrect party.
So now I put a tread on this post after 90+ threads, which I should not have to done. Everyone should know about wait times in manufacturing.

You just lost any credibility you had. You can't can't count on any lead time that PT&G might give you, ,,,, on anything you might order from them! If you see a product on their web site and call them, chances are they can't even tell you if it's in-stock, or not! When I order bolt bodies I might get them in a month or in 3 months. That's why I keep a few "on the shelf" in my shop. When I get down to 2, I place another order, because I know I won't get them 'right away'. Why would I be able to give anyone a 'current lead time for a reamer' from them? I quit ordering from them a long time ago because I couldn't count on their 'estimated delivery time', or that the reamer I ordered would be the reamer I got, or that it would even cut.! I guess I'm a slow learner, I own 8 of theirs (I have near 80 finish chambering reamers in my inventory). Hobby tools, at best! Hobbyists have time to wait (and wonder),, I don't!

You're building a custom rifle that will be upwards of $2,500 minimum and you're trying to save $50 bucks on one of the most critical pieces of the build...smh
I didn't intend to upset anyone. Just wanted to k ow about current lead times @and understand they're not always what you're told depending on company!
Adam32... I'll only be spending $600-700 total on this project

And,, you've had how many in this thread tell you that you can count on what JGS or Manson tell you for "how long"? It just never ends! There are days I wonder why I participate here......

I appreciate all the feedback on Manson and JGS! It ultimately helped me make a decision I'm really confident in.
