I am up to 22 coyotes so far this year. My daughter and i started about the 15 of Nov. I have had some good days one weekend my daughter and i took 7 coyotes. I got two coyotes christmas day afternoon. I am saving the money from each coyote a guy local gives me 20 bucks a dog and i dont have to skin them he even picks them up at the house.

I have saved every penny I am using it for a new scope fund. I have all the money in a coffee can labeled scope fund. Hopefully it will work I plan to let the coyotes pay for my new scope.

I will update the total as i take more probably not daily but i hope atleast once a week.

If anyone else wants to run their total feel free to. I am not posting this as a competative thing i just thought it would be cool to keep track of the dent we all put in the coyote population...

Depends on the gun-

.223 I use 55 gr ballistic tips
220 Swift 50 gr hollow points
.256 win mag 65 gr sierra's
257 WTBY mag 100 gr ballistic tips loaded HOT

Daughter uses eitehr

.243 80 gr cheap core locks
22 hornet 43gr ballistic tips

I just ordered a new scope for the .220 swift and loaded up about 140 rounds for it. As soon as i get time to go get it dialed in i will be using it for about all hunting except a coyote derby coming up for the I will use my RRA Predator. Cant afford to let any get away that day first place is to much $$$ to pass up.

I just got access to another big chunk about 3500 acres and the owner says there are several coyote dens on one section of it. He actually called me and told me he has had three barn cats get taken this year already and for me to kill as many as i can so i am working the weekend then Monday it is on the daughter and i will spend a majority of the day there.

Had a little whoopsie this afternoon my daughter missed two coyotes on two different set ups. She was using a mono pod tho and usually uses a bipod. So when we got home i put the bipod back on her rifle.

Im still working on my first. Its killing me. I have been out many many times since elk season ended. Have yet to call in a dog. I moved to Southern Colorado from Arizona and I am totally getting my butt kicked! In Arizona I would usually average about 10 to 15 depending on how much we got out.

Not giving up just yet..... Have a new snow storm coming in on Sunday/Monday. Gonna give it another college try

Dusted number 23 tonight after work I got off and only had enough time for one set up before dark. I called my first series and watched her wade thru the foot deep snow from about 700 yards she stopped and stared at 200 yards and i popped her.

I am headed out again monday to the new big chunk of land i got to hunt so hopefully i will add some more to my total and my new scope fund :)

I honestly don't have a count, since we leave mange in the field and have already taken fur to "the man"
I know on a weekend back in Oct we dropped 19 on a Fri/Sat and this weekend we put down 11 so far.

I'd put the number close to 75 or so, with probably 65 on HD video. If we weren't filming, it would be well over 100+

AWESOME I hope to get to 100 this year to I want a new scope and i am trying like heck to let coyotes pay for it.

I am headed out tomorrow provided the **** fog lifts. You cant see 50 yds outside my house now. Fingers crossed it will lift.

I will let u know tomorrow how we do.

Good luck. We've killed 4 and 3 of them were mangy as heck. We saw another that was also manged up. Does that stuff run its course through a population and then the healthy ones repopulate? We have lost a lot of fawns and pheasants to them so happy to nail as many as possible.

I have not seen any this year, let alone shot one. I got 5 last year. shot everyone I saw. I only hunt my farm. I took a deer carcass and it has been there 2 months and nothing but small varmints have eat on it. I don't know what has happened to the coyotes around here. Other deer hunters shooting them or what. I have not seen one run over in the road, in I don't know when. Maybe distemper or something killing them?

257WTBY, I know it can be a hassle ....... but if you skin and stretch those coyotes yourself you could buy 2 scopes!!! Prices on average are 50-60$ for a good western dog this year.

News Flash
Broke the slump Got one this morning. Yesterday evening I saw they had found the deer carcass and called one up this morning. Big male. Well one for the year. LOL:)

Well add 12 more to my total this week. I would have went out again today but overtime for 10 hours sure as heck pays more then hides. My daughter has shot 7 this week and i shot 5 I was on my 8 hour shifts this week so i got off at 2:30 and hunted till dark everyday. I got 5 to make our total 34 for the year.

50-60 dollars a hide? Where can i get that price I will be skinning my butt off. I have about 20 hide stretchers from when i used to racoon hunt and trap.

I saw a red fox this week for the first time around here in 20+ years. I used to trap them and grey fox all the time back home so i let him walk. I figure between the coyotes around here and not being very many of them I would let him go for this year.

I have a question tho it seems everytime i called this week i called in a hawk. I mean every set up. Do you guys get hawks coming into ur set ups?

Thanks
