I'm looking into building a designated coyote gun. We shoot anywhere from 60-500 on our big open places. I like wildcats but I also don't want to have a cartridge that's a pain in the rear to find brass for. I don't mind making brass if it's not a huge time consumer. Looking for a short action in the 60-85 grain pills area. I'm trying to keep it on the short lightweight side. Maybe 20-23 inch barrel. Going around 3300 give or take. Anyone have some suggestions?

We shoot a .223 with a 20" 1:8 shooting SGK 65gr with H-4895 Lapua brass shooting in the 2800 fps range. Do almost all hunting at night so 2-300 is max range.
If we were going to go in the 6mm range would probably go with a 6BR Varget 105 Berger.
BUT the .223 with the right combo is an AWESOME Yote Killer!

👌🏾 I ran 108 eldms in my gt for a bit. It did an amazing job on yotes. Very fur friendly as well. I tried the 80 gr Eldvt and ran them pretty hot. I shot a couple yotes and a doe out at 610 yards. I like how little drop I got but I don't want to destroy my gts barrel.
