I use Ivory soap for a capYears ago the man that taught me how to reload used cheese to to seal the fire forming load. I think anything that is non abrasive that will keep the load from spilling out is fine.

Great thank you for the cotton ball idea. No, Sir, just fill the case with COW to the base of the shoulder. I find the cotton ball easier to work with than paper.
II'm planning to do some COW fireforming, but is it hard on barrel life? How do I clean it out? Clean every 50 rds or more?
Consider using Puff-Lon with a beeswax cap works well without all the messy cleaning. Kapok works well also.I'm planning to do some COW fireforming, but is it hard on barrel life? How do I clean it out? Clean every 50 rds or more?

So using kapok instead of cream of wheat?"What is a kapok used for?
Kapok is also used as stuffing for pillows, mattresses, and upholstery, as insulation material, and as a substitute for absorbent cotton in surgery. Kapok is chiefly cultivated in Asia and Indonesia; the floss is an important product of Java."
Probably isn't going down my barrel none too soon!!! Not sure what it will do to the barrel, probably okay, but..... I'll stick with the toilet paper or cotton balls.
No I think he's using the kapok instead of cotton balls or paper to hold the COW in the brass before firing. So using kapok instead of cream of wheat?
Ok. I thought he used it as the media since he mentioned bees wax as a cap.No I think he's using the kapok instead of cotton balls or paper to hold the COW in the brass before firing.
